S.T.A.L.K.E.R. Clear Sky is the second part of the S.T.A.L.K.E.R. series and the successor to S.T.A.L.K.E.R. Shadow of Chernobyl. Compared to the first part, some game mechanics was adapted and extended that were not liked by everybody. Clear Sky is the name of the faction you join at the beginning of the game. You will do do the first missions with an for them. Unlike the other Factions that also appear in the previous and subsequent parts, the Clear Sky faction is only present in the second part of the Stalker series.
The Clear Sky followers are dedicated to explore and understanding the zone. For this purpose, they like to use the support of mercenaries, similar to the Ecologists faction. Unlike them, however, they do not shy away from the use of force and see themselves as protectors of the zone. They have their headquarters in the swamps, the starting area of Stalker Clear Sky. They are neutral towards other factions except for the Bandits and Renegades. The Renegades appear only in Stalker Clear Sky.

The Clear Sky faction has split off from parts of “The Group”, a group of researchers who were responsible for the Common Consciousness and the creation of the Zone. Three of these researchers (N.A. Lebedev, V.I. Suslov and E.F. Kalancha) founded Clear Sky because they could not agree with “The Group” how to deal with the results of the experiment in the future…
A new promising faction system is intending to create interesting dynamic events. But unfortunately it often didn’t work well and was considered to be rather annoying. Through the large and active Modding Community, however, some patches are available here. In terms of story, sidequests and creepy factor, the successor of Shadow of Chernobyl is in no way inferior to its predecessor. It’s still a very good game!
