We find ourself at the first Chocobo Race in the Game. Cloud needs to Win this Race or the Group will not get out of Prison. You can try as often as you like. The first try is a direct loose. The Chocobo runs out of Stamina at the finish line. We need to get out of Prison so we are trying again! Last time there was to much sprinting! Speed up the Chocobo so he will finish the Lap without loosing to much Stamina and you should be fine!
After the second try we are successful and Win the Race. Therefore Dio lets us free after hearing about Dyne and we even get a Buggy as compensation. This allows us to cross deserts and rivers and is needed to get to other Parts of the Maps as we can do by foot. Dio tells us also that he met Sephiroth and he was going South to Gongaga Village.
You do not know it yet and you can totally miss it throughout the Game but you will hear some pretty interesting Story there. But il will only make sense later. Thats another Part what makes Final Fantasy 7 so good. You can play this game many Times and still find new stuff on every run.
