After the exploring of the City Kalm, we found out that it was a Mining City before. But the Workers stopped since Monsters infested the Mine. It started at the same Time as Shinra Inc. started the Mako Extraction with their Reactors. The Game is so old but there are so many things that you can apply to our World today. The Group Meets in the Hotel and it is time that Cloud tells his Story about Clouds past how he remembers it. Sephiroth is a part of that.
Cloud was in S.O.L.D.I.E.R. a Elite Fighting Division from Shinra. He was working with Sephiroth and tells the Story of how he perceived it at that Time. This will be relevant later in the Game and in Games like Final Fantasy VII Advent Children, Before Crisis: Final Fantasy VII or Dirge of Cerberus which i will play later you can find more out about Clouds past. But for now its Time to hear what Cloud thinks about the Tragedy five years ago that changed Sephiroth forever.
